ronen Gaard Hotell was originally built by timber merchant G.
Block Watne before the turn of the century. Today's Swiss-style main house with stables
and outbuildings was completed in 1898. The Block-Watne family used the house as a summer
residence, and it was renowned for good food and many great festivities. It became a
gathering place for friends and relatives, forming the foundation for the cozy and
informal atmosphere which still prevails over Kronen Gaard Hotell. The hotel is situated
in beautiful surroundings just outside Sandnes. The lovely weeping beech which adorns the
southern side of the property is probably the oldest in Rogaland, with an estimated age of
100 years. Kronen Gaard Hotell is a hotel with modern conveniences in traditional
surroundings.
