A mountain lodge was established in 1869 at Grotli by the
government and the first generation of «Grotli people» came and settled permanently in
the mountains. In 1905 the privately owned hotel was opened, and you can experience the
atmosphere from that era, with its timber walls and cosy log fires, to this day. We have
retained the «Grotli style» throughout the hotel - and together with good homemade food
- hope that you will enjoy your stay with us. Grotli is situated perfectly for excursions
to many well known tourist attractions both to the east and west. The fifth generation
hope that they get the opportunity to wish you welcome to the hills.
