Enjoy the Christmas time in Santa Claus’
home surroundings at the Arctic Circle, Finnish Lapland, where the magic
winter darkness and unspoiled landscapes, wrapped in a white mantle of
snow, create a special atmosphere for a holiday to remember. Your
children will experience a Christmas fantasy which will long remain
vivid in their memory. See their eyes sparkle with delight and
excitement, as they meet the real Santa Claus and receive a gift from
him. Snow games provide fun for kids and adults alike.

23 December
Meet with guide at Rovaniemi airport. Transfer to Hotel Rantasipi
Pohjanhovi. Guests are provided with a warm outdoor clothing at the
hotel. For visitors with morning or early afternoon arrival there is a
guided shopping tour in the town center with a visit to the Arktikum
exhibition (for late arrivals the visit is scheduled for 26th).
Opportunity for afternoon sauna and swim. Disco for children. Dinner.
24 December
Buffet breakfast and opportunity for morning sauna and swim. Option for
a guided shopping trip.
Two-hour excursion into the snowy forest: Transfer by coach to the
surrounding wilderness where guides, dressed as friendly animals, take
you for a short walk through the forest. Among the trees you catch a
glimpse of Santa’s helpers who invite the kids to join in a cheerful
time of play in the snow. It also seems as if Santa Claus had just been
there a few moments ago, as you find some traces he has left behind.
Finally you arrive at a site lit by torches, candles and open fires.
There is a small cottage and a table laid with a traditional Finnish
Christmas dish, rice porridge with cinnamon. In the cottage each child
will find a message from Santa Claus, asking them to feed the birds and
animals of the forest. Then, look for the most beautiful Christmas tree,
which will be taken to the hotel. In the afternoon children decorate the
tree, with hot drinks and ginger cookies being served. Enjoy a
traditional Finnish Christmas dinner from buffet. Finally, Santa Claus
will drop in and hand out a present for each child. (Brought by parents
in advance.)
25 December
Early coach transfer to the site of an open air Lutheran Christmas
Service, conducted in English. Return transfer to the hotel for
breakfast.
Christmas Carnival: The event is especially designed for kids but is fun
for the adults alike. Children over age 6 need not necessarily be
accompanied by parents, as they are supervised by guides. There is a
shuttle bus service to and from the site of the event. Guides are
dressed as animals. You will find a full range of unique activities
available, such as quad bike driving, cross-country skiing, ice fishing,
tobogganing, kick sledging, snow sculpturing, tandem skiing, snow shoe
races, reindeer sledge rides, ice golf and rides in a sledge pulled by a
snowmobile. For the youngest ones there are also mini snowmobiles to
try. Learn to sing Christmas carols in Finnish and grill sausages over
an open fire. Hot drinks are served. Tonight enjoy an international
Christmas buffet dinner. Wednesday, 26 December
The day is free for participating in optional tours. There is also
another chance to see the Arktikum exhibition, if you missed it on 23rd.
The exhibition displays the past and present of the peoples of the
Arctic regions and helps the visitor to understand Lapp customs and
lifestyle. In the evening, children’s disco and dinner.
27 December
Check-out and transfer to the airport.
