Bårdshaug
Herregård Hotel - anno 1900
 The manor Bårdshaug
Herregård was built for Minister Christian Thams in 1900. Mr Thams was an architect and
was Managing Director of Orkla Gruveaktiebolag, a Minister for Prince Albert of Monaco,
Belgian Consul-General, and President of several African and European companies. He also
constructed the Thamshavn railway, which is the oldest narrow-gauge electric railway in
Norway. Bårdshaug Herregård comprises a stately mansion, two station buildings from the
Thamshavn railway and an additional, more recent building housing many antiques. The guest
rooms in the new building have modern facilities, including ensuite bathrooms, mini
hospitality bars and TVs. |
