FAROE ISLANDS EXCURSIONS
 CITY TOUR OF TORSHAVN:
Drive through the newer parts of the Faroese capital where we will pass the
Nordic House and the old fortification Skansin. After the drive we will walk
through the old centre of Torshavn called Tinganes; today the centre of the
administration. The tour will terminate at a local restaurant for a Faroese
lunch.

BY BUS TO
VESTMANNA AND BOAT TO BIRD CLIFFS & GROTTOES:
A mountain road drive to the fishing village of Vestmanna from where we will
sail in small sturdy boats to the birds' cliffs and into the grottoes north
of the town.

WALK THE OLD
POSTAL PATH TO THE OLD CENTER OF KIRRKJUBOUR:
Walking along one of the old postal roads from Torshavn to the ancient
cultural centre of Kirkjubøur where we will visit the never finished
cathedral of St. Magnus, the medieval church and the old wooden house
Roykstovan. Lunch package en route. After visit to Kirkjubøur return to
Torshavn by bus.

BY BUS TO THE
OLD RELIGIOUS CENTER OF KIRKJUBOUR:
Half day tour by bus to the ancient cultural center of K irkjubøur where we
will visit the never finished cathedral of St. Magnus, the medieval church
and the old wooden house Roykstovan. Return to Torshavn by bus.

BY LOCAL FERRY
TO THE ISLAND OF NOLSOY:
By local ferry from the harbor to the island of Nolsoy where you will have a
couple of hours on your own to stroll around the little village and into the
fields. A tour into the lost time of yesterday. A map of the island will be
delivered with the tickets.
Duration: 3-4 hours (depending on ferry schedules).

SAILING ON AN
OLD SCHOONER:
Sailing on an old schooner - half day tour on the sea outside Torshavn on
board a tall ship. An experience of the by-gone days.

Bus tour around the island of Vagar including visit to the church in
Sandavagur, the old turf house museum and then an introduction to the
nature.

BIRDS' SANCTUARY MYKINES:
By boat to the island of Mykines - a really paradise for bird lovers and
everybody enjoying the great nature. This tour is depending on the weather
and will be cancelled if the sea is too rough. Lunch included.

EASY HIKE TO
BIRD CLIFFS & WATERFALL:
Easy hike to the
birds' cliff "Trælanipan" and continue to the waterfall Bøsdalafoss. A
little further along the coast we will see the rock Geituskoragrangur. We
return along the shores of the lake Sørvagsvatn to the old storehouses built
from huge stones.

HIKE TO THE
ISOLATED VILLAGE OF GASADALUR:
Hike to Gasadalur - the last village in the Faroes without road connection.
Still the postman walks to Gasadalur 3 times weekly all year around with the
mail. A great experience - but a little demanding. If you want to shorten
the tour it is OK. Packed lunch included.
Duration: 6-7 hrs.

Excursions on Vagar Island includes transfers from Hotel Vagar to
the place of departure for excursion
