MARGRETETORPS GASTGIFVAREGARD ****

Margretetorps Gastgifvaregard has for centuries been a resting place for travelers on
the famous thoroughfare across the Halland Ridge. It became well-known as early as 1652,
the year In which Queen Kristina laid down the statues for hostelries and coaching Inns.
Margretorp has been faithfully restored and is today a hotel of the highest class, as
well as one of the most beautiful in the whole of Sweden.
Location:
On the southern slopes of the Halland Ridge, on the Skane side of the
provincial border, 3km from Angelholm Airport. Special features: A beautiful
half-timbered building, with beamed ceilings in every bedroom. The rooms all have their
own private entrance off one of two paved inner courtyards prettily planted with flowers.
The inn's culinary traditions are lovingly maintained to this day, its legendary
"smorgasbord" is served daily.
