DAY 1-2 STOCKHOLM
Overnight at Freys Hotel for 2 nights. Explore the Swedish Capital on your own.
DAY 3 STOCKHOLM-MORA
Depart for 3-4 hour train trip to Mora, a pleasant village on the northern shores of Lake Siljan in the folklore province of Dalarna. Overnight at
Hotel Mora.
DAY 4 MORA-OSTERSUND
Early morning departure for an adventurous tour on the INLAND RAILWAY. The train makes frequent stops along the route to allow passengers to take pictures, pick wild berries or buy coffee and snacks. Arrive in Ostersund in the early afternoon for overnight at Hotel Gamla Teatern. You may want to visit the Jamtli outdoor museum.
DAY 5 OSTERSUND-ARVIDSJAUR
Another day on the INLAND RAILWAY traveling through a scenic and unspoiled landscape arriving in Arvidsjaur in the afternoon. Overnight at Hotel Laponia for two nights.
DAY 6 ARVIDSJAUR
Today an excursion to a Sami Camp at Batsuoj Forest Lapp Center located 40 miles west of Arvidsjaur. You will experience the life and culture of the Lapps, meet the people and their reindeer and learn about the religion and traditions of Lapland. Enjoy a typical Lapp meal before returning to your hotel.
DAY 7 ARVIDSJAUR-GALLIVARE
Continue with the INLAND RAILWAY, cross the Arctic Circle to Gallivare. Overnight at Hotel Nex.
DAY 8 GALLIVARE-STOCKHOLM
Before leaving Gallivare you may want to see the Dundret recreation area, the mine and the Old Town in Malmberget. Afternoon departure by train to Stockholm. Overnight in 2-bed sleeping compartment.
DAY 9 STOCKHOLM
Morning arrival in Stockholm. End of arrangements.
